"Bootlegger's Special"
GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this unique 1933 GMC Truck for your consideration. This truck was manufactured near the end of prohibition and ran bootleg whiskey from Canada into Michigan a few times before being confiscated by the U.S. government. It was then purchased by the Coast Guard who used it to serve stations on Lake Michigan for six years before being retired and sold to a private owner. This private owner used it for lumbering and farming. A long rest of fifty years during which the truck sat before being sold to a new owner who refurbished the truck and upgraded it with the driveline of a '67 Corvette. The truck today still retains the 327ci V8 and automatic transmission from the Corvette.
Overall this truck is very clean with a detailed underside and clean interior. One of the passenger side windows is broken as shown in the pictures. The wood flatbed is in great condition and even features a whiskey barrel which pays homage to this example's origins. With wiper blades, turn signals, and many SunPro gauges, this truck is ready to be driven to shows, the store, or wherever else you may need to go.
These trucks are not very common and finding another example with such a unique history may prove difficult. Now is your chance to scoop up this '67 Corvette powered bootlegging truck! Please call or email with any questions or for additional information.
