Southern California 911 Carrera Targa with single-family ownership for the past four (4) decades, believed to be 35,167 original miles, finished in a factory color combination of Black (700) with Tan leather upholstery. According to the current owner this 911 US Carrera was first purchased from Westwood Porsche Audi in Santa Monica, California. Registration cards verify ownership of the Carrera from 1978 until the late 2000s and was eventually handed down to the son. The son, a Porsche mechanic, serviced the 911 and maintained it throughout the family's ownership. It was last serviced by Westwood Porsche Audi on January 2, 1978, at 34,xxx miles and has sat in dry storage ever since. When it came time to sell the Targa it was offered to the current owner, a family friend, who was familiar with the Carrera since he was four years old.

Since the acquisition, the following has been performed in 2021-2023: replaced fuel tank, fuel pump, fuel filter, fuel regulator, spark plugs, air filter, installed new factory exhaust including heat exchangers, new Pirelli CN36 tires, full brake service, and the original Fuch alloy wheels. Most recently 2022 and 2023, Vision Motorsports was commissioned to perform the following: rebuild the fuel distributor, rebuild the warm-up regulator, flush fuel lines, replace fan belts, oil service, brake fluid flush, transmission fluid flush, and install hot air hoses. The lower valve covers were upgraded to the Turbo valve covers, the valves were adjusted, and new gaskets were installed. The hydraulic chain tensioner oil feed upgrade was also installed with a new master cylinder and rear calipers. A full engine service was performed including replacing ignition points, distributor cap, rotor, set the timing/dwell, and tuned the CIS injection.

Paint meter readings confirm that the paintwork is all original and displays some patina for a 911 of this vintage. The exterior features Carrera script delete, original glass, integrated fog lights, and a Targa top with a tight seal. The upholstery is in original condition with new carpets and headliner recently installed. Interior options include factory Recaro sport seats, air conditioning, and an FM/AM cassette tape player. An original leather-wrapped Carrera steering wheel sits in front of VDO instrumentation with a 150-mph speedometer and an 8000-rpm tachometer. The undercarriage remains all original with no signs of any rust. Staggered, refinished, Fuchs wheels with black centers are fitted to Pirelli Cinturato CN36 185 70 R15 fronts and 215 60 R15 rears tires.

Powered by a 2.7-liter flat-six engine, factory-rated at 175 horsepower with 167 lb-ft of torque with a 5-speed manual transmission (Type 915). Complete with original owner's manual/maintenance record booklet, tool kit, collapsible spare tire, registration cards going back to 1978, and recent service history.
