1934 Chevrolet Master 2 Door Sedan

For consignment, this nice award winning popular seller from the Chevrolet camp. This 2-door 1934 design with an extra-long body and rear window, canvas top, and cowled hood, running boards and early design, it's truly a gangster car. It received many awards in a short time after its 1986 professional restoration, including a VCCA win as well as a AACA JR award. Lacquer based maroon paint for the body and black for the fenders and running boards, and bright red steel spoked wheels to finish things off. Some time in the 1990's the car was put into storage and has seen very little daylight since. Now fresh from long term storage and gracing the West wing of our Hallowed Halls is the most popular Chevrolet of 1934!

Exterior
Fresh from long term storage and the beneficiary of a comprehensive restoration in 1986, this exterior is showing with the miles deep Oxblood Maroon paint job still retaining its shine and luster. Some light chipping, staining, and dulling is noted but nothing that detracts from the overall styling and beauty. Black running boards with their clean rubber toppers fill the space between the artistically swept black front and rear fenders. 2 doors are seen, the front two are hinged at the firewall and are dressed with curved door handles in chrome on the exterior. Up front is a chromed dressed shield style grille within a maroon corral, which retains a wonderful shine. Single headlights flank the grille and are attached with a post that mounts to the corral. Also, a simple bumper is seen on the front and rear of this car. The long cowled hood sports a trio of stainless trimmed louvered vents on either side, and covers the restored engine bay, all the while butting up tto the radiator cover up front. The roof is a canvas panel and is in near showroom condition. Contrasting red steel wire spoked 17-inch wheels are all around and are wrapped in wide whitewall tires which are 5.25/5.50x17 in size.

Interior
Cleanly restored with Lebaron Bonney tan broadcloth coverings all over including the door panels, and overstuffed interior buckets and bench. These buckets for the front have large tuck and roll panels, and prestige with buttons and piping in tan. This is the same for the rear bench which has side arm rests like a couch, and no tears or rips. More tan mohair is on for the inside pillar covers and the headliner. Up front is the original restored dash in black with a small inset area of wood veneer highlighting the top arches of the dash. More wood makes an appearance in the half moon inserts facing the driver and passenger. The driver's holds the original Art Deco style AC gauges and to the lower left we see the scarcer than hen's teeth factory installed AM radio. The passenger's wood insert is the glovebox and dash central holds yet more wood with bakelite knobs and the ignition switch. A black Bakelite steering wheel fronts the dash. Floating this interior is clean black rubber matting up front and in the rear we see deep pile light beige carpeting. We note the optional heater hanging under the passenger side of the dash and craning our necks skyward reveals a water stained and split seamed tan mohair headliner.

Drivetrain
A clean, mean and steel gray inline 6-cylinder engine is within the engine bay, under the cowling hood. A 206.8ci engine it is and has a single 1-barrel carburetor on the side. A 3-speed manual transmission is attached to the back sending power to the 4.11 geared rear axle.

Undercarriage
Very little surface rust on the glossy black floor pans, frame and body hangers with no invasive rust to be seen underneath. Also, there are a few areas which have an excess of grease buildup from years of greasing maintenance being covered by road dirt. Road dirt is present on most of the suspension parts which include leaf springs all around, and mechanical drum brakes on all 4 corners.

Drive-Ability
While complete and intact, long term storage does have a tendency to cause issues with fuel systems so we did not try to start this old bowtie.

Certainly rust free, just with a need for some mechanical TLC on the drivetrain, brakes and suspension merely from sitting. Charming lines throughout and the interior is like new tan mohair all around. A survivor if you will, right out of the gangster era with awesome Art Deco styling.
