21,529,464 VW Beetles were produced from 1938 through 2003 with the design remaining consistent the entire time, yet implementing over 78,000 incremental updates, sometimes subtle and sometimes a little more noteworthy like engine upgrades, safety and technology. The VW is probably the most recognized cars in the world from old to young from men to women, everyone loves a Beetle and its hard to run in to anyone that does not have a story about a Beetle. The demise of the Beetle came in 2003 where the Beetle was last being produced mainly for taxi service because the new Taxi laws said that services needed to provide 4-door automobiles which in turn shut down the last VW Beetle plant. This particular Beetle is a driver quality car that starts, idles, shifts through all of its gears and goes down the road quite enjoyably. With the prices of these convertible really starting to increase its nice to see one that can still be bought at this kind of price. There are definitely things that could be done to improve this car but its ready to be driven and enjoyed now. There was a patch in the passenger side floor pan but seems to be solid now.
