Description

1959 GMC 100

Car History

Just like Chevrolet, GMC has been offering light-duty trucks since the 1930s. It makes sense since most of the brand's products have always been rebadged and slightly revised Chevrolets, but GMC trucks weren't particularly popular back in the day.

But the 1959 GMC 100 pickup truck we have at Adventure Classics is like no other you have ever seen. It has hot-rod resto-mod written all over it and it has become a stunning collectible.

Engine & Drivetrain

The original GMC had an inline-six but open the hood on ours and you will be shocked when you see the built 454 cubic inch big block Chevrolet engine with the block, heads, and intake painted in Chevrolet orange and having the chrome open element air cleaner over the performance carb, finned aluminum M/T valve covers, power steering, power disc brakes, air conditioning, tube headers feeding the dual exhaust, performance distributor, and all sitting in a very sharp detailed engine compartment.

The engine is backed by a 5-speed Tremec manual transmission and it rides on a lowered suspension on chrome mag wheels and Cooper Cobra Radial GT performance tires.

Interior

This isn't a regular GMC series hauler either when you look at the interior. It has a restomod fashion to it but also retains some originality to it.

It boasts a customized blue interior with a cloth fabric bench seat, blue carpet, tinted glass, a complete Dakota digital dash, aftermarket stereo system, air conditioning, tilt steering column and black/polished steering wheel, floor mats, seatbelts, chrome 5-speed floor shifter with the white shifter knob, great door panels, and is as comfortable as any truck can be.

Exterior

When you see the light blue paint job on this GMC it is nicer than any other 1959 you will ever see. It truly gives it the right look with all the great brightwork, including the chrome grill and bumpers, step-side bed, fully restored and modified wood bed with the hard bed cover, and the painted windshield visor.

While you're starting to get the picture, don't forget to look at its level of sophistication and lowered stance it has, with the power to back it up.

Conclusion

The 1959 1959 GMC 100 pickup truck we have at Adventure Classics is such an iconic GMC pickup, but when you throw in the looks and power with the resto-mods, you will then know what a home run you have on all levels.
